Abstract

In this present study, the bacteria as etiological agents of urinary tract infections in diabetic patients Urinary tract infections are common among patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus. Treatment of UTI in patients with type 2 diabetes depends on several factors, including: presence of symptoms, if infection is localized in the bladder (lower UTI) or also involves the kidney (upper UTI), presence of urologic abnormalities, severity of systemic symptoms, accompanying metabolic alterations and renal functions. Treatment should also involve correction of metabolic complications caused by the infectious process.  First line antibiotic treatment of UTI in patients with type 2 DM. UTI are more severe caused by more resistant pathogens and is associated with worse outcomes  in patients with diabetes on basis of gender, age and duration of diabetes were found to have  increased risk factors for developing UTI in diabetes.
