Author Guidelines
The authors are requested to prepare their manuscripts as per the instructions or specifications given below. It should be noted that the review process is solely depend upon the significance of the work and the care used by authors to represent it, in the form of their manuscripts. Therefore, authors are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully before preparing/submitting their manuscript for publication.
Preparation of Manuscript
The manuscript should be prepared in English using “MS Word” with 1 inch margin on all sides (Top, Bottom, Left and Right side) of the page. “Times New Roman” font should be used. The font size should be 12pt for the body of the manuscript. All plant and microorganisms scientific names should be written in italic. All the article manuscripts should be typed 1inch line spacing and should have the following sections:
- Title
- Name of Authors (write Full Name in sequence)
- Affiliation Details (Study/working address, designation, Email ID, ORCID-ID of all the authors.
- Abstract 3-5 keywords (For Research paper: Structured, Review: Non-structured)
- Introduction
- Materials & Methods
- Results & Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgement
- Conflict-of-Interest
- Funding Source
- References
Title Page
- Running Title: Apart from full length title, provide short running title.
- The title should appear on a separate page which should then followed by the author name and the institution name and address by indicating suitable superscripts.
- The full title of the paper is as short as possible without abbreviations or acronyms. The title should be as brief and informative as possible, specifying clearly the content of the article.
Paper Title: First Letter Capital. 14 font point type
Author(s): First Letter Capital, 12 font point type
Affiliation(s): Word case, 8 font point type.
Author /Contributor Names: The person/s who have worked on the research and subsequently prepared the research paper are the authors /contributors to the Manuscript. Once the manuscript is submitted to the journal, the following changes are not permitted
- Change in the order of the Author Names
- Changing the Author for Correspondence
- Inclusion of Fresh or New Author names
Affiliation: Below the title, all author names should be mentioned along with Affiliation of each author.
1. Affiliation details should include
Designation, Department, University / College Name, District, State, Country for all authors
2. Each author’s affiliation should be identified by a superscript small numeral.
3. Author for correspondence should be indicated by an asterisk.
4. Provide full address with e-mail, ORCID-ID, telephone number of Author for correspondence.
Corresponding author has the responsibility to ensure that all coauthors are aware and approve the contents of the submitted manuscript.
Abstract: The abstract should be provided with a maximum of 150 -250 maximum words limit. The abstract should be a single paragraph and should follow the style of structured abstract without subheadings.
Structured Abstracts: Abstract, Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and Keywords
Background: background for the study and should state the study’s purpose, basic procedures, main findings and principal conclusions. It should emphasize new and important aspects of the study and observation. Methodology: Method describes briefly the main methods or treatments applied and include relevant preregistration numbers and species and strains of any animals used. Results: It is giving the main and most important findings. Emphasize only the most important observations, do not use replicate all the data, tables, figures, and text. Discussion: Summarize the article’s main findings only. Conclusion: conclusion indicates the interpretations with the goal of the study but avoids unqualified statements and the abstract should be an objective representation of the article. It must not consider results that are not presented and substantiated in the main text and should not exaggerate the main conclusions.
Key-words: Provide 3-5 appropriate key words after abstract. Keywords need to be within the subject discipline.
Introduction: The introduction should `be briefly placed in a broad context and highlight why it is important. It should define the purpose of the work and its significance including specific and previous studies in the area. The current state of the research clearly described the purpose of the study, the tested hypothesis, and its aim and scope. Keep the introduction comprehensible to scientists working outside the topic of the research paper.
Materials and Methods: The Methods section should only include information that was available at the time the study was planned or protocol written; all information obtained during the conduct of the study belongs to the results section. New methods and protocols should be described in detail while well-established methods can be briefly described and appropriately cited.
Results: Provide a concise and precise description of the experiment results and data on all primary and secondary outcomes, identified in the materials and method part and do not include methods, discussion and conclusions. All Charts, figures, and Tables are cited in text in numerical order and include a brief description, consider using supplement material to use and major findings.
Discussion: The author should discuss the results and how they can be interpreted from the perspective of previous studies and of the working hypotheses. The finding and their implications should be discussed in the broadest context possible and limitations of the work highlighted and further research directions may be mentioned. Explore the implications of findings for further research and policy and combined them with results.
Conclusions: This section is crucial and required as it summarize the key points and findings of your paper. It determines overall conclusions of the study and the future research directions.
Patents: It is not mandatory but may be updated if there are patents work is reported in this manuscript
Conflicts of Interest: Please clearly indicate if there is any conflict of Interest. Else, do mention the authors declare no conflict of interest
Acknowledgements: Acknowledge those persons who helped you in the present study by providing facilities, personal assistance and funding if any.
Funding Source: Clearly mention the source of funding body, organization details.
References (Vancouver style): It should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text (not in alphabetic order). Identify references in text, tables and legends by Arabic numerals in superscript in square brackets. References cited only in tables or figure legends should be numbered in accordance with the sequence established by the first identification in the text of the particular table or figure.
In-text citation: Insert an in-text citation when your work has been influenced by someone else's work, for example:
- When you paraphrase someone else's work.
- When you directly quote someone else's work.
General rules of in-text citation:
- A number is allocated to a source in the order in which it is cited in the text. If the source is referred to again, the same number is used.
- Use Arabic numerals [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9].
- Square brackets [ ] can be used in superscript as long as it is consistent.
Journal Articles:
In-text citation: Use consecutive numbers in square [ ] brackets in superscript after the referenced information. For example: This was demonstrated in recent studies[1].
Reference list: Numbered according to order of citation in the text. It appears as a separate page or section titled "References."
Journal article format:
- Author(s) surname and initials. Title of article. Abbreviated title of journal. Year of publication; volume number (issue number): page range.
- Example of a journal article reference in Vancouver style: Smith J, Brown P. Effects of drug on condition. J Med Sci. 2020;12(4):123-9.
- Journal titles must be abbreviated according to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) guidelines.
- Include DOI or URL if available, especially for online articles.

Tables and figures
Tables: The table number should be properly given, large size tables should be split into two or more tables so that it can be accommodated within the page size. Table width and cell sizing should be even and all the content should be left side aligned. Number of the tables and title should be given above the tables and without any border, shading. Illustrations should be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in the text as Table.1, Table.2 and so on. All the Tables insert in the text content, do not give on separate page.
Figures: Illustrations (300 dpi) should be provided as file in JPEG/TIFF format. Illustrations should be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in the text as Fig.1, Fig.2 and so on. All the figures insert in the text content, do not give on separate page.
Short Communication: The journal publishes exciting findings, preliminary data, or studies that did not yield enough information to make a full paper as short communications. These have the same format requirements as full papers but are at least 10-15 pages in length. Short Communications should not have subtitles such as Introduction, Materials, Methods, Results, Discussion - all these have to be merged into the running text.
Case Study: It should be divided into the Title page, Abstract (non-structured), Keywords, Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, Conclusion, Conflicts of Interest, Acknowledgement, References.
Review Articles: Should be about at least 15-20 pages long, contain up-to-date information, comprehensively cover relevant literature, and preferably be written by scientists who have in-depth knowledge on the topic. Review articles need not be divided into sections such as Materials, Methods, Results, Discussion, but should definitely have an Abstract (non-structured), Introduction, Discussion, Conclusion, Conflicts of Interest, Acknowledgement, References.

Copyright of all accepted papers will belong to WJPBT and the authors must affirms that accepted papers for publication in WJPBT must not be re-published elsewhere without the written consent of the editor in chief WJPBT. To comply with this policy, authors will be required to submit a signed copy of Copyright Transfer Form after acceptance of their paper, before the same is published.
Final Proof of the Paper
One set of page proof (as PDF file) will be sent by email to the corresponding author. This proof is only for checking the typesetting, editing, completeness and correction of the text, tables and figures. Note that, journal will proceed with the publication of paper, if no response is received within 7 days.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
All articles published in our journals are open access and freely available online, immediately upon publication. We are running a standard journal as we are indexed in many reputed Indexing databases, for maintaining standards we need to send articles to outsourcing agency for content checking process. Therefore, we are charging only content checking fee from the authors before publication and after acceptance.
Licensing Policy
The World Journal of Pharmacy and Biotechnology (WJPBT) in favor of Open Access policies, and we will be licensing the manuscripts of the WJPBT with the Creative Commons (CC) BY-NC 4.0. The WJPBT allows readers to read, download, print, search or share the research data for non-commercial purposes.
